RESEARCH INTERESTS

epigenetics targeting especially towards methylation programming mechanisms during cellular differentiation or development
development and implementation of "succinct" large-scale data structures and subsequent algorithmics hereon being the backbone of bioinformatics; main interest points/experiences with 1) most diverse variants of compressed suffix tree representations (on genomic collections) for text indexing and variant-adapted downstream string algorithmics 2) succinct representations of (colored) DeBruijn-structures for genome assembly and sequence specifity-preserving indexing/variant representation on genomic-collections AND related structures
master thesis targeted towards succinct data structures for indexing large-scale genomic collections predominantly in a relatively compressed, suffix tree based manner
resource aware and compression algorithmics in general
