In the winter term of 2016/17, the lecture series on Tolkien re-launches in a new, exciting and expanded format: "Fantasy, Science Fiction and ...". We begin with an anchor point which is very close to our own academic focus when we juxtapose FanSciFi with "... the Medieval".

Picking up where we left off, the lecture series does not only feature researchers from the University of Augsburg and within our own discipline but presentations from disciplines like penology, musicology, pedagogy, history or geography. Topics include – among others – Harry Potter, Game of Thrones/A Song of Ice and Fire, Star Wars, and, of course, our starting point The Lord of the Rings.
