Laufende Projekte

My ongoing PhD project looks at prepositions through a cognitive semantic lens. The aim is to develop semantic networks modelling the polysemy of eight English prepositions based on natural corpus data. A cross-linguistic comparative perspective is also included, in order to see whether the polysemy of the English prepositions is mirrored when compared to their German translation counterparts.

Another project I am currently working on (in collaboration with Prof. Claridge) focuses on the preposition 'by'. The aim is to investigate the polysemy of 'by' but through a diachronic perspective, in order to see how its semantics developed over time.
