How to organize your first term

You are a first term student and don't know what courses you have to choose and how to register for them? You have never heard of Digicampus, ECTS points or module signatures? Don't worry, you can find the relevant information in the link below.

Introductory Meeting English and American Studies (Bachelor / Lehramt / Master)

The introduction for first semester students in Anglistik/Amerikanistik takes place on October 10, 2025 from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm in room HS I. The mandatory Welcome meeting for Master students will also take place on October 10, 2025 from 10:00 am in room HS IV. Any first term student of the Bachelor Anglistik/Amerikanistik (major and minor) and the M.A. English and American Studies, and first semester students of ANIS as well as teacher-training students with English as subject should join this event for essential information on courses, how to enrol, administrative matters, as well as choice and registration for courses during your first semester.

What is the EFV? Information on application / enrollment

You are interested in studying English at the University of Augsburg and in need of information on how to apply online at our university, enrollment, or the mandatory assessment procedure (EFV)? Just follow the link for details on the application process and important deadlines regarding the EFV.

HOW TO APPLY?

1) Apply online at the University of Augsburg if you are not already enrolled.

2) Registration for the EFV:
- First-year students are to use the applicant number from your online application.

- Students already enrolled at the University of Augsburg are to use their matriculation number as applicant number.

- Please upload a legible copy of your complete Abitur certificate in PDF format.

- Please note: The EFV is a procedure that can be completed and passed in several ways (by taking the test, by the Abitur average in English, or by using an alternative language qualification; see link below). However, prior registration for the procedure is necessary in any case!

- EFV for the start of the summer semester 20226: Deadline for registration for the EFV is January 15, 2026, midnight.
