Katharina Angermayr, M.A. wurde beim Dies Academicus der Universität Augsburg mit dem Universitätspreis der Gesellschaft der Freunde der Universität Augsburg e.V. (GdF) für ihre hervorragende Masterarbeit am Institut für Medien, Wissen und Kommunikation (imwk) ausgezeichnet.

In Ihrer Masterarbeit am Digital Health Communication Lab forschte Katharina Angermayr zum Thema „Mental Health Disorders on Netflix: A Quantitative Cross-Cultural Content Analysis of Movies and Series in 13 Countries“ unter der Betreuung von Prof. Dr. Sebastian Scherr.

Die Wissenschaftspreise der GdF werden jährlich an hervorragende NachwuchswissenschaftlerInnen verliehen. Im Jahr 2024 wurden zwei AbsolventInnen des vergangenen Jahres ausgezeichnet, wobei Katharina Angermayr die einzige Preisträgerin der Philosophisch-Sozialwissenschaftlichen Fakultät war.

Katharina Angermayr promoviert seit Januar 2024 im Bereich Digital Health Communication an der Universität Augsburg.

At the University of Augsburg’s “Dies Academicus 2024”, Katharina Angermayr was awarded one of only two Best Thesis Awards sponsored by the Society of Friends of the University of Augsburg e.V. (GdF) for her outstanding master's thesis in communication. In her thesis at the Digital Health Communication Lab, Katharina investigated the topic "Mental Health Disorders on Netflix: A Quantitative Cross-Cultural Content Analysis of Movies and Series in 13 Countries" under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Sebastian Scherr.

The university’s best thesis awards are presented annually to outstanding emerging scholars. In 2024, only two graduates of the entire previous academic year were honored, with Katharina Angermayr being the only recipient from the Faculty of Philosophy and Social Sciences.

In January 2024, Katharina started pursuing her PhD in the Digital Health Communication Lab at the University of Augsburg.
