Dr. Eren Karaca

holds a PhD in Sociology from Binghamton University, USA, where her research focused on health policies and the political economy of Turkey's recent health reform. She also holds an MS in Sociology and a BS in Business Administration from Middle East Technical University, Turkey.

Her research interests include social policy, health policies, transnational institutions, and left-wing politics in Turkey. Currently, she is working on a project examining the migration of healthcare professionals from Turkey to Germany, with a focus on its role in global health worker migration, its impact on national healthcare systems, and the role of intermediaries in the migration process. Dr. Karaca has published articles and book chapters on health policies, Turkey's health reforms, and political organizations in Turkey.

She is a co-editor of Gezi at Ten: Domination, Opposition, and Political Organization,

 a volume recently published by Brill that explores the legacy of the Gezi Park protests.

From 2019 to 2024, she worked as a lecturer in Turkey, teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in Sociology and Anthropology at TED University and Hacettepe University.
