Lebenslauf

Dr. Jonah M. Otto, MPA, erwarb seinen Bachelor of Science an der University of Southern Indiana (USA) mit den Schwerpunkten internationale Politikwissenschaft und europäische Geschichte. Während dieser Zeit studierte er im Vereinigten Königreich und in Ghana und absolvierte Praktika beim United States Census Bureau und einer Anwaltskanzlei für Zivilrecht. Anschließend arbeitete er für das US-Außenministerium in Edinburgh, Schottland, wo er das schottische Unabhängigkeitsreferendum für die US-Botschaft in London analysierte.

Dr. Otto absolvierte einen Master of Public Affairs (MPA) an der Indiana University (USA) mit den Schwerpunkten öffentliches und NGO-Management, internationale Bildung und wirtschaftliche Entwicklung. Während seines Studiums arbeitete er an einer globalen Gesundheitsinitiative von UNICEF mit CCS Nonprofit Consultants und leitete eine Marketing- und Branding-Kampagne für acht Landkreise bei der Radius Indiana Economic Development Corporation.

Nach seinem Abschluss wurde er stellvertretender Direktor für internationale Programme an der O’Neill School of Public and Environmental Affairs der Indiana University (USA). Er etablierte die globale Präsenz der Institution durch die Förderung von Partnerschaften mit ausländischen Universitäten, Regierungen und NGOs. Er diente auch als Dozent, wo er Forschungsarbeiten durchführte und Kurse zu internationaler öffentlicher Politik, wirtschaftlicher Entwicklung und kulturellen Kompetenzen unterrichtete.

Dr. Otto wechselte dann als Dozent und Forscher an den Lehrstuhl für Unternehmensführung und Organisation der Wirtschaftswissenschaftlichen Fakultät der Universität Augsburg, wo er seinen Doktortitel erwarb. Derzeit ist er Akademischer Rat an der Universität Augsburg und konzentriert seine Forschung und Lehre auf die Schnittstellen von internationalen Beziehungen, Globalisierung, Hochschulbildung, Standortpolitik und wirtschaftlicher Entwicklung. Er leitet auch den Bereich Incoming Exchange und Internationalisierungsentwicklung seiner Fakultät und spielt eine Schlüsselrolle beim Aufbau und der Umsetzung der internationalen Strategie der Institution. Er hält regelmäßig Vorträge zu amerikanischer Politik, Regierung und der Internationalisierung der Hochschulbildung.
