Workshop: Intersectional Pedagogy: Theories and Practices

Intersectional Pedagogy:
Theories and Practices A Think-and-Do Tank for Creating Inclusive and Equitable Learning Environments

A three-day Workshop with Dr. Gal Harmat 29 - 31 January 2025, Augsburg

“Intersectional Pedagogy: Theories and Practices” is an intensive three-day course designed for researchers, educators and university lecturers in peace studies, social sciences and social issues, as well as for students and civil society activists from Augsburg. This think-and-do tank will immerse participants in rethinking and redesigning educational methodologies through experiential learning and innovative intersectional pedagogical methods. Over three full days, participants will translate complex theories and concepts into practical applications, utilising simulation games, interactive activities, and case studies. Through collaborative learning and teaching, participants will actively explore and apply intersectional pedagogy, equipping themselves to foster more inclusive and equitable learning environments.

Dr. Gal Harmat is currently a senior fellow of Swisspeace, a researcher and lecturer at the Kibbutzim College of Education in Tel Aviv, and an associated professor at the University for Peace (UPEACE). She is a very experienced lecturer, among other things for training courses that focus on intersectionality as a (action-guiding) perspective and key competence for conflict analysis and peacebuilding.
