impACTup! Academic Pathways to Impact and Innovation: Course for Doctoral Students in January 2025

impACTup! Academic Pathways to Impact and Innovation

impACTup! is a joint impact-oriented entrepreneurship qualification program offered by the LMU Munich, the University of Augsburg, and the Center for Digital Technology and Management (CDTM), funded by the Bavarian State Ministry of Science and the Arts. The program provides profound insights into impact and strives to introduce entrepreneurship as an effective tool for implementing socially relevant innovations to everyone. Research, teaching, and entrepreneurial activity are linked and complement each other. The aim is to implement academic topics relevant to entrepreneurship in the curriculum and translate research findings into practical applications.

The course is held in English designed for academic personnel and PhD students from all disciplines. After a kick-off event via zoom, participants will explore impact, innovation, and entrepreneurship in a self-study through several short video snippets and exercises. Participants have 10 days to complete the tasks, which take a total of 4 to 5 hours to complete. As a follow-up meeting in person, there will be a keynote speech by Dr. Nils Mandischer (KI Production Network Augsburg) on the topic “Social Equity in Manufacturing Through Human-Robot Teams”, a fishbowl discussion session of the participants, an overview of the startup infrastructure in Augsburg, as well as the opportunity to network.
