PONTES Lecture with Prof. Dr. Renato Cymbalista (FAU-USP)

Brazilian urbanist Prof. Dr. Renato Cymbalista (FAU-USP) will give a PONTES Lecture on "Other Urbanisms" as part of the interdisciplinary Urban Methods Lecture Series on December 12 (17h30 in D 1005). The lecture is organized by ISLA's Urban Cultures Working Group and open to all interested members of the University of Augsburg.

Brazilian Sociology meets Documentary Film

The Augsburg Institute of Social Science in collaboration with the Jakob Fugger Research College organize a Film Series with Brazilian sociologist and documentary filmmaker Prof. Dr. Hermílo Pereira dos Santos Filho (PUCRS, Porto Alegre) from Dec-5 until Jan-16 at the University of Augsburg. CfA: International Doctoral Program "Rethinking Environment"

The University of Augsburg and Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich invite applications for 12 Doctoral Positions (m/f/d) in their International Doctoral Program (IDK) funded by the Elite Network of Bavaria. The positions are to be filled for 65 % of regular working hours in an employment relationship initially limited to two years, with the option of extending the temporary employment for an additional two years, provided that the relevant requirements are met. ISLA/USP-Workshops

The ISLA Institute and its URC Working Group have been awarded, together with their institutional Brazilian partners, FAPESP/BAYLAT funding for joint workshops and activities in São Paulo and Augsburg regarding urban-cultural diversity issues and multilingualism. The first bilateral Workshop will be held from March 24-29, 2025 at the University of São Paulo (USP). For more information see DMC section.

ISLA meets UBA

Im Sinne interinstitutioneller Synergien haben die Universidad de Buenos Aires (UBA) und das Augsburger ISLA in Buenos Aires eine strategische Zusammenarbeit vereinbart, um Best Practice-Austausch im Bereich der Forschung und Lehre zu Iberoamerika transatlantisch zu befördern.
