1. Hybride Open-Access-Zeitschriften:
   Artikel von Korrespondenz-Autor*innen der Universität Augsburg, die zur Veröffentlichung in hybriden Zeitschriften angenommen wurden, können kostenfrei im Open Access publiziert werden. Bei Verzicht auf dieses Angebot findet keine Erstattung oder Ersparnis statt.
   Das Kontingent der in diesem Modell publizierbaren Artikel ist gedeckelt und wird nach dem „first come, first served“-Prinzip vergeben. Die Finanzierung von Artikeln im Open Access über dieses Kontingent hinaus kann von der Universität Augsburg nicht übernommen werden.
    
2. Reine Gold-Open-Access-Zeitschriften:
   Die Abwicklung der Publikationskosten erfolgt weiterhin individuell über die Korrespondenz-Autor*innen. Ein Rabatt wird von AIP nicht gewährt.

Grüner Weg zum Open Access (Zweitveröffentlichung):

1. Autor*innen können das publizierte Verlags-PDF nach einem Embargo von 18 Monaten im institutionellen Repositorium, OPUS, zweitveröffentlichen.
2. Die Postprint-Version, also das akzeptierte Manuskript nach Peer Review, kann ohne Embargo mit CC-BY-NC-Lizenz im institutionellen Repositorium, OPUS, zweitveröffentlicht werden.

2. Hybride Open-Access-Zeitschriften („Hybrid“):
   „Hybrid" bedeutet: Artikel von Korrespondenz-Autor*innen der Universität Augsburg und des UKA können ohne Zusatzkosten im Open Access publiziert werden. Die anfallende Hybrid PAR Fee in Höhe von 2.500 Euro netto zzgl. Service-Pauschale und MwSt. (Elsevier Core) / 6.450 Euro netto zzgl. Service-Pauschale und MwSt. (Elsevier Cell Press / Lancet) wird im Jahr 2025 von der Universität / Universitätsbibliothek für Sie übernommen.
3. Bitte beachten Sie, dass der Vertrag keine Zusatzgebühren für page und colour charges beinhaltet -   diese Kosten müssen weiterhin von den Autor*innen übernommen werden.

Autoren aus dem vertraglich definierten Nutzerkreis sind ohne Mehrkosten berechtigt, ihre in den lizenzierten Zeitschriften erschienenen Artikel in der Regel in der durch den Verlag publizierten Form (z.B. PDF) ohne Embargo in ein (institutionelles oder disziplin-spezifisches) Repositorium ihrer Wahl einzupflegen und im Open Access zugänglich zu machen.

2. Hybride Open-Access-Zeitschriften („Springer Open Choice“):
   „Open Choice" bedeutet: Artikel von Korrespondenz-Autor*innen der Universität Augsburg und des UKA können ohne Zusatzkosten im Open Access publiziert werden. Die anfallende Hybrid PAR Fee in Höhe von 2.600 Euro netto zzgl. Service-Pauschale und MwSt. wird von der Universität / Universitätsbibliothek für Sie übernommen.
   Allerdings gilt die Regelung bei Facharztzeitschriften nur für Original Paper, Review Paper, Brief Communication. 
   Ausgenommen davon sind ebenfalls die Zeitschriften „Nature Communications“ und „Scientific Reports“.
   Bitte beachten Sie, dass der Vertrag keine Zusatzgebühren für page und colour charges beinhaltet -   diese Kosten müssen weiterhin von den Autor*innen übernommen werden.

The University of Augsburg participates in the AIP Read & Publish agreement coordinated by the TIB.

Gold Open Access:
 

1. Hybrid Open Access journals:
   Articles by corresponding authors affiliated with the University of Augsburg, that are accepted for publication in hybrid journals, can be published Open Access free of charge. If authors choose not to take advantage of this option, no refund or discount will be provided.
   The number of articles that can be published under this model is limited and allocated on a “first come, first served” basis. The University of Augsburg cannot cover the costs of Open Access publications once this quota has been exhausted.
    
2. Fully Gold Open Access journals:
   Publication costs must still be paid by the corresponding authors. AIP does not offer a discount.

• Since 1 July 2020, publishing in BMC journals has been governed by the DEAL Springer agreement. Further information can be found under Springer Nature.

Green Open Access (self-archiving):

1. Authors may deposit the publisher’s PDF in the institutional repository, OPUS, after an 18-month embargo period.
2. The postprint version, the peer-reviewed, accepted manuscript, may be deposited in OPUS immediately, without embargo, under a CC-BY-NC licence.

Gold Open Access:

1. Fully Gold Open Access journals:
   For BMJ's fully gold Open Access journals, authors don't receive any discount on Article Processing Charges (APCs).
2. Hybrid Open Access journals:

2. Hybrid Open Access journals:
   • In most of De Gruyter's hybrid journals, authors affiliated with the University of Augsburg can publish Open Access free of charge.

Green Open Access (self-archiving):

• Standard conditions apply. Authors may deposit the accepted manuscript (aka postprint) in the institutional repository, OPUS, after the applicable embargo period. Information on journal-specific embargo durations and conditions is available in the JISC open policy finder.

Gold Open Access:

1. Fully Open Access journals ("Fully Gold"):
   “Fully Open Access” means that corresponding authors affiliated with the University of Augsburg or the UKA receive a 15-20% discount on Article Processing Charges (APCs). These publication costs are not centrally covered by the university and must be paid by the authors.
2. Hybrid Open Access journals ("Hybrid“):
   “Hybrid Open Access” means that articles by corresponding authors from the University of Augsburg or the UKA can be published Open Access at no additional cost. The Hybrid PAR Fee — €2,500 (Elsevier Core) or €6,450 (Elsevier Cell Press / Lancet), each plus service fees and VAT — will be covered by the University or University Library in 2025.
3. Please note that the agreement does not include page or colour charges, these expenses must still be covered by the authors.

1. The University of Augsburg has a total allocation of 10 APC vouchers for Open Access publications in IEEE journals. This means that up to 10 articles by corresponding authors affiliated with the University of Augsburg can be published Open Access at no additional cost.
2. Vouchers are allocated on a first come, first served basis. Please contact us for more information.

Green Open Access (self-archiving):

• Standard conditions apply. Authors may deposit the accepted manuscript (aka postprint) in the institutional repository, OPUS. Information on journal-specific conditions is available in the JISC open policy finder.

Gold Open Access:

1. Corresponding authors affiliated with the University of Augsburg can publish their articles (research articles, reviews, introductory articles) Open Access at no additional cost during the term of the agreement, provided the journal is included in the Read & Publish agreement.
2. John Benjamins verifies affiliation with the University of Augsburg based on the institutional affiliation provided in their system and on email address. Please use your university email address whenever possible during the publication process.
3. Open Access articles are published under a CC-BY license.

Green Open Access (self-archiving):

Authors are entitled, at no additional cost, to upload their articles published in the licensed journals to a (institutional or discipline-specific) repository of their choice without embargo and to make them accessible via Open Access.

Diamond Open Access:

"Corresponding authors" can publish Open Access free of charge via the "Subscribe to Open Agreement" in the following journals:

• Pacific Journal of Mathematics

The University of Augsburg participates in two journal packages from SAGE: the Humanities and Social Sciences (HSS) package and the Health Science package. For journals in these packages, the following applies:

Green Open Access (self-archiving):

• Authors may deposit the publisher's PDF in the institutional repository, OPUS, after a 12-month embargo period, provided the journal is included in the respective package.

Gold Open Access:

1. Fully Open Access journals (SAGE Gold):
   Authors receive a 20% discount on Article Processing Charges (APCs) for fully gold Open Access journals within the HSS and Health Science packages. Publication costs are not centrally covered by the university and must be paid by the authors.
2. Hybrid Open Access journals (SAGE Choice):
   Corresponding authors can publish articles in hybrid Open Access journals from the HSS or Health Science packages at no additional cost.
3. SAGE verifies affiliation with the University of Augsburg based on the institutional affiliation provided in their system and on email address. Please use your university email whenever possible during the publication process.

Gold Open Access:

1. Fully Open Access journals ("Fully Open Access"):
   “Fully Open Access” means that corresponding authors affiliated with the University of Augsburg or the UKA receive a 20% discount on Article Processing Charges (APCs) (exceptions: Nature Communications, Scientific Reports). Eligible article types include Research Articles (Original Paper), Review Papers, and Brief Communications. Publication costs are not centrally covered by the university and must be paid by the authors.
2. Hybrid Open Access journals ("Springer Open Choice“):
   “Open Choice” means that articles by corresponding authors affiliated with the University of Augsburg or the UKA can be published Open Access at no additional cost. The Hybrid PAR Fee — €2,600 net plus service fee and VAT — will be covered by the University or the University Library.
   Please note: for specialist medical practitioner journals, this applies only to Original Papers, Review Papers, and Brief Communications. 
   The journals Nature Communications and Scientific Reports are excluded.
   Page and colour charges are not covered by the agreement and must be paid by the authors.

   Column H (“Publishing Model”) indicates the journal type:

For journal articles accepted by Taylor & Francis from 1 January 2026 onwards, our new publishing agreement will apply. Further information will be provided as soon as it becomes available.

The Hybrid PAR fee — €3,150 net (Wiley Tier 1), €2,700 net (Wiley Tier 2), or €2,200 net (Wiley Tier 3)  — plus service fee and VAT will be covered by the University / University Library.
