How people move around cities will change in future. The use of electric cars and improved public transport could protect people’s health and improve air quality. A new study led by Professor Christoph Knote from the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Augsburg is looking at the effects that changed mobility behavior in Augsburg and the surrounding region will have on cardiovascular and metabolic diseases.  

During February and March 2023, the Air View car will return to Augsburg for a second measurement campaign.

Recently, the Computer Centre of the University of Augsburg received funding for a new high-performance computing cluster (HPC) from the German Research Foundation (DFG).

During recent weeks the AirView Car has been driving around Augsburg measuring air pollution in the city. The campaign is part of a European project which aims to understand how environmental factors affect human health and disease.

The Chair for Model-Based Environmental Exposure Science (MBEES) presented a weeklong hackathon to Masters in Geoinformatics students to develop an agent–based modelling system. The hackathon provided opportunities for collaboration and learning.
