The Chair of Applied Computational Linguistics (ACoLi) of the University of Augsburg addresses the whole range of computational linguistics and speech technology, applied to the german language as well as european and outer european languages.

 

Within the frame of teaching, our emphasis is on the one hand to continue the studies of students of various humanities regard of informational technology, and on the other hand, to impart basic computational linguistic knowledge to students of computational sciences.

 

In research, we focus on the following domains:

 

  1. Natural Language Understanding: Language technological processing of natural semantics and pragmatics,
  2. Knowledge graphs for representation and processing of knowledge,
  3. Linguistic Data Science: To use web standards and graph technology for language technology and linguistics,
  4. Digital Humanities: To apply these technologies in kooperation with academic an non-university partners
