Digital Resources
There are several online resources for research in Environmental History and the interdisciplinary Environmental Humanities, with digitally accessible or open access material.
Environment and Society Portal
The online portal Environment and Society, developed by the Rachel Carson Center for Environment and Society, is a gateway to open access resources on the human-environment relationships.
Among others, it hosts virtual exhibits such as The Life of Waste or Toxic Relationships, both providing historical and humanistic perspectives on waste, toxicity, and global inequality. These exhibits have been curated by the DFG-research group Hazardous Travels.
GNTU Search
The online portal History of the Natural Sciences, Technology, and Environment is part of the information services history, Historicum.Net, funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG). The portal works like an OPAC, a library catalogue tailored specifically for environmental history and environmental humanities titles, including digitally accessibly and open access material.
