Curriculum Vitae

Jan Huntgeburth is a research fellow at the Chair of Information Systems and Management at the Department of Business Administration of the School of Business and Economics of the University of Augsburg, Germany. Prior to his current position he studied Management Information Systems (from 2004 till 2010) at the University of Mannheim and spent parts of his graduate studies at the University of Edinburgh, Scotland (September 2008 till May 2009). After his graduation, he was a research and teaching assistant at University of Mannheim (July 2010 till February 2013) and at the University of Augsburg (March 2013 till November 2014). In 2014, he earned his Doctoral degree at the Business School of the University of Mannheim for his dissertation entitled “Developing and Evaluating a Cloud Service Relationship Theory”. During his PhD, he was a McBride Fellow at the Hankamer School of Business at Baylor University in Waco, Texas invited by Prof. Dorothy Leidner (April 2012) and a visiting scholar at the College of Business, Washington State University, Pullman, US invited by Prof. Suprateek Sarker (March/April 2013).  He also served as a visiting lecturer for Aalen University of Applied Sciences (September 2013 till August 2014).

 

In his research, he is interested in the effects digitization has on the society (i.e. companies, governments, societal groups and individuals). In the past years, Dr. Huntgeburth has published articles in international scientific journals and contributions in proceedings of leading international conferences. Amongst others, his work has been accepted for publication in the Journal of Business Economics and the eService Journal as well as proceedings of the International Conference on Information Systems, the European Conference on Information Systems and the German Information Systems conferences (Conference Wirtschaftsinformatik and Multikonfernz Wirtschaftsinformatik). Dr. Huntgeburth has published two books at Springer Publishing elaborating on digitization topics. He frequently serves as an ad-hoc reviewer for leading journals of the information systems research field including the European Journal of Information Systems, Decision Science oder Business & Information Systems Engineering.
