Research, teaching and advice are stronger together. Our teaching philosophy has three goals: First, students should think bravely so that they can take an active role in shaping future solutions. Second, students are equipped with the necessary tools to conduct systematic analyses of economic policies. Third, students gain a deeper understanding of the limits and potential of what economics can contribute to combating climate change and its effects. We learn and teach across disciplinary boundaries.

Thesis

Writing a thesis is a process that starts with thinking about a topic, narrowing it down to an answerable research question, formulating a testable hypothesis and then using data to test it. The aim of this process is that you document that you can conduct your own independent economic analysis. Doing so is (hopefully) the best thing you have done in your studies, so good preparation is key. Please take contact with Prof. Florian Diekert via mail when you think about writing a Bachelor or Master thesis in the field of environmental, resource, or climate economics.
