Kurt-Bösch-Foundation
Legacy of several houses in the Swiss Valais
The Kurt Bösch Foundation is unique in the German higher education landscape. The Swiss entrepreneur, art collector and patron, born in Augsburg, established it in the Valais Canton capital of Sitten (Sion) in January 1986 with the aim of enabling and promoting "meetings and scientific, cultural and linguistic exchanges between French speakers and German speakers in the area of the Canton of Valais".
Georg Haindl Science Foundation
Foundation of a Chair of Environmental Management
In 1999, on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of Haindl Papier GmbH & Co. KG, Germany's largest paper manufacturer donated a professorship for environmental management to the University of Augsburg, focusing on environmental efficiency, innovation and sustainable management.
Albert Leimer Foundation
Focus on the promotion of natural and economic sciences
The Albert Leimer Foundation was established in 1986 by Berta Leimer, the widow of Albert Leimer and the mother of today's Foundation Chairman, Hannelore Leimer. The purpose of the foundation is to promote science and research. With regard to support the University of Augsburg, the promotion of technical, natural and economic sciences takes center stage.
Kurt and Felicitas Viermetz Foundation
Science Award for the Faculty of Business and Economics
On December 16, 2003, Kurt and Felicitas Viermetz established the foundation named after them in Augsburg. The foundation’s purpose is the promotion of science, art and culture in Augsburg and Bavarian Swabia as well as the promotion of relations and understanding between the German and American people.
