The Jakob-Fugger-Zentrum warmly congratulates Dr. Khrystyna Seméryn, who was a guest researcher at the Jakob-Fugger-Zentrum in 2023, on receiving the award Encounter: The Ukrainian-Jewish Literary Prize of the year 2025 for her anthology “Centuries of Presence. The Jewish World in Ukrainian Short Prose of the 1880s-1930s”


Dr. Khrystyna Seméryn is a Ukrainian scholar, journalist, and author who was a guest at the Jakob-Fugger-Zentrum in 2023. Her publications cover a wide range of topics, such as cultural memory, Ukrainian studies, and Jewish studies, as well as visual arts, women's rights, gender studies, disinformation, and cultural policy. At the Jakob-Fugger-Zentrum, she presented her research on Ukrainian-German Geographies of Memory.
