‘What you see is not what you get: ESG scores and greenwashing risk"

In their work, the two scientists from the Centre for Climate Resilience show that ESG ratings are unsuitable for measuring a company's actual environmental impact. This is because ESG ratings primarily reflect a company's communication of its environmental efforts rather than its actual environmental impact.
