Lunch talk series: Understanding the System

The first session of the new online lunch talk series Understanding the System will explore how scientists in Germany are paid under the public sector agreements TV-L and TVöD.

The talk will explain pay bands, levels, and how experience and qualifications affect salaries. It will also offer advice on negotiation, communication with HR or supervisors, and resources for support, with a special focus on international researchers.

Organized with the German Association of University Professors and Lecturers (DHV), the session will be led by scientist and lawyer Hanna Lemp. Participants are encouraged to submit questions in advance.
