Project description

In this project, authentic video cases are produced for university teaching, in which discipline- and profession-specific problem situations are shown (e.g. teaching situations for use in teacher training, critical pastoral care discussions in theology studies, suboptimal treatment processes in medical studies). For the competence development of the students, the focus here is on the promotion of professional perception. In this context, comprehensive preliminary work with digital video vignettes in the aforementioned LeHet project can be drawn upon, which are to be systematically provided with cognitively activating elements and tasks (e.g., observation tasks, hinting stimuli) with the help of already existing open source software (H5P) and expanded to 360° videos and their use in VR scenarios. In addition, new video examples are being produced in medicine, communication science, and Catholic theology. The medical faculty, for example, is focusing on revealing expert views to students with eye tracking. Communication science deals with 360° videos to raise awareness of media use. The interactive videos are not used as stand-alone applications, but are integrated into existing courses via the university's Learning Management System, where they are used to initiate independent, constructive and interactive learning processes. In this way, a steadily growing pool of subject-specific interactive videos is being created, which will also be made available to other universities. The Philological-Historical, Catholic-Theological, Philosophical-Social Science and Medical Faculties are involved in this project. In the third year of the project, there will also be a transfer to the Faculty of Applied Computer Science.
