At the Faculty of Applied Computer Science of the University of Augsburg, the Chair of IT Infrastructure for Translational Medical Research (Prof. Dr. Kramer) has a vacancy for a

Research Assistant (m/f/d)

in the scope of the regular working hours in an employment relationship initially limited to one year. A temporary extension of employment as part of academic further qualification is planned, provided the necessary requirements are met.

As a member of our team, you will contribute to the development, implementation, and integration of systems that form the foundation for the digitalization of medical research and the medicine of the future. As part of an interdisciplinary team, you will work independently in the areas of requirements analysis, conception, design, implementation, and integration of IT systems. Additionally, you will be involved in conducting medical studies and/or research and development projects at the department.

Your profile:

  • Completed Master’s degree in Computer Science or Healthcare
  • Knowledge or experience in at least one of the following areas:
    • Information systems in healthcare or the conduct of clinical studies
    • Software development (e.g., Python, Java, web frameworks), machine learning
    • Data processing (e.g., NiFi), automation (e.g., Ansible), and virtualization (e.g., Docker, KVM)
  • Strong communication skills and a team-oriented approach

Required qualifications must be demonstrated with the application materials. Remuneration up to pay group 13 TV-L (~52k-75k Euro anually).
