The University of Augsburg awards scholarships funded by the State of Bavaria to international students (foreign nationals who received their education abroad). These scholarships are generally  ntended for advanced students and can be applied for only after completing two semesters at the University of Augsburg. A sufficient number of academic achievements at the University of Augsburg is required in order to assess the applicant's academic aptitude. Academic aptitude and personal qualifications are decisive for the award. Applicants must also demonstrate financial need. Students who meet the requirements of §8 BAföG (i.e., who are basically eligible for BAföG) are not considered 'international applicants' under the scholarship guidelines.
