Transfer Office of the University of Augsburg

Universities are a rich source of up-to-date knowledge and new ideas from highly qualified scientists. The Transfer Office at the University of Augsburg is an active intermediary between our faculties, chairs and academic staff on the one hand and companies, local authorities and organisations on the other. Its task is to initiate, promote and support the mutual exchange of knowledge in order to ensure that the knowledge available at the university is quickly put into practice.

  • As part of the inventor and patent counselling service, university members are helped to protect and utilise inventions.

  • In the StartHub Centre, all university members interested in founding a company will find a wide range of support. Further information can be found  here

  • Through partner matching, the Transfer Centre helps you to establish successful collaborations and new contacts within the University of Augsburg.

  • Together with our partner, Bayern Innovativ GmbH, we offer scientists working at the University of Augsburg support in the initiation and realisation of participation in selected exhibitions. Participation in exhibitions is also regularly subsidised by the Bavarian Ministry of Science as well as the Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs.

Inventions & Patents

The Inventor and Patent Counselling Service supports members of the University of Augsburg in patenting their inventions. It offers all members of the university practical advice on the possibilities and necessary steps involved in obtaining patents and helps them to utilise them economically. The Transfer Centre works together with the Bayerische Patentallianz GmbH.

Support offers:

  • Support with the disclosure of inventions,
  • Implementation of the patenting procedure and
  • Support in the commercial utilisation of patents and inventions.

Cooperations

Many scientists at the University of Augsburg conduct research in collaboration with companies, municipalities or organisations. The projects are carried out using the university's infrastructure. Collaboration can take the form of research projects or doctoral and master's theses. This also includes measurements, analyses, professional development and in-house seminars. The Transfer Centre will be available to help you find the right expert at the University of Augsburg.
