English and American Studies (M.A.)
Study content:
In this degree programme, students deepen their subject knowledge and improve their practical language skills. Through opportunities for interdisciplinary research and numerous project assignments, they receive comprehensive preparation for a wide variety of fields of work. Students can create their personal profile by choosing a major area of study between linguistics and literary studies, as well as that of a minor area from Anglophone Cultural Studies, Didactics of English and - depending on the choice of major area - linguistics or literary studies.

Special features
Prospective students who have successfully completed the Master's degree programme Anglistik/Amerikanistik Studies at the University of Augsburg or who have conclusively failed this programme can no longer take up the Master's degree programme in English and American Studies.

International applicants must submit a standardized certificate such as IELTS or TOEFL; a first degree from an English-speaking country may be accepted instead of such a certificate).

Applicants requiring visas are strongly recommended to apply well in advance. Only in this case there is a good chance that you will be able to complete the necessary visa formalities in time.
