Seminar mit Gastdozent Prof. Daniel Goldberg, Colorado (USA).

This seminar conversation will equip learners with the concepts and tools needed to take practical steps for addressing stigma in clinical contexts.

Learning Objectives

By the time this session is complete, learners will be able to:

A. Define stigma in health contexts;

B. Explain the significance of stigma as structural rather than individual; and

C. Identify three interventions intended to ameliorate inequitable burdens of health stigma.

Assoc. Prof. Daniel S. Goldberg ist Director of Education am Center for Bioethics and Humanities an der University of Colorado, USA. Im Juni/Juli 2024 ist er zu Gast am Institut für Ethik und Geschichte der Gesundheit in der Gesellschaft, Medizinische Fakultät, Universität Augsburg. Daniel Goldberg ist Bioethiker/ Public-Health-Ethiker mit interdisziplinärem Fachwissen in Bioethik, Geschichte und Gesundheitsrecht. Er befasst sich seit mehr als zehn Jahren mit der Erforschung ethischer, rechtlicher und historischer Aspekte chronischer Erkrankungen. Das Hauptforschungsgebiet von Daniel Goldberg ist Stigmatisierung und Diskriminierung in Medizin und Gesundheit. Der Schwerpunkt seiner Arbeiten liegt auf Fragen der Prioritätensetzung in der Gesundheitspolitik und dem Einsatz rechtlicher Instrumente zur Verbesserung von Stigmatisierung und Marginalisierung.
