Welcome to the pages of Applied Geoinformatics (Prof. Dr. Jukka M. Krisp). Research areas of Geoinformatics include the investigation and development of computational methods for visual spatial data analysis – that comprises data acquisition & storage, processing, enrichment and extended exploratory visualization & cartographic communication. Current research deals with concepts of Location-Based Services (LBSs), Geographic Visualization, Visual Analytics, Spatial Modeling, GIS Applications and Augmented/Virtual Reality.

Mobile Tartu 2024 International Conference & PhD School
The Mobile Tartu International Conference and PhD School (see: mobiletartu.ut.ee) took place from June 11-14, 2024, in Tartu, Estonia. This conference emphasizes mobile big data analytics aimed at fostering just and sustainable societies.
Prof. Krisp and PhD researcher Lika Zhvania participated, with Lika Zhvania also attending the PhD School. During the conference, Lika Zhvania presented a poster titled "Exploring Social Networks and Spatial Patterns in Mobile Data."
