How do I gain a study place in a higher semester?
You have already completed some academic study and would like to have it counted towards your new degree programme at the University of Augsburg? Here, too, it is important whether you are interested in a degree programme with open or restricted admission.
Please note that you do not need to register on hochschulstart.de if you are applying for a higher semester. Applications for a higher semester are only possible via the VIBS portal.

Open admission degree programmes (without NC)
For degree programmes with open admission, a direct application or enrolment in a higher subject semester is not possible and also not required. You select the desired degree programme in the application portal (only the first semester is available here) and enrol in it. Please note the following information on open admission degree programmes.
After enrolment, you can apply for a credit transfer at the examinations office. If you have enough ECTS credit points, you will then be upgraded to the corresponding semester.
For open admission degree programmes, enrolment documents must be received by the University of Augsburg by 30.09. (winter semester) or 31.03. (summer semester) at the latest.
