Im Psychological Research Colloquium werden laufende Forschungsarbeiten vorgestellt und diskutiert. Zusätzlich zu Wissenschaftlerinnen und Wissenschaftlern der Universität Augsburg berichten auch Kolleginnen und Kollegen aus anderen Forschungseinrichtungen über ihre Arbeit.


Digital learning environments in higher education combine multimedia with instructional approaches, such as case-based and simulation-based learning. While engaging with these environments, learners produce digital traces that enable the analysis of their task processing and the provision of automatic adaptive learning support. In this presentation, I will first summarize my past and ongoing research in the area of learning analytics and professional vision, aiming to gain insight into learners’ written reasoning by using epistemic network analysis, a network analytic method designed for epistemic data. As such fine-grained analyses of learners’ task processing and outcomes provide insight into their typical learning patterns and difficulties, the results can con[1]tribute to personalized learning in digital learning environments. In this context, I will further introduce my re[1]search efforts focused on automating adaptive learning support in digital learning environments for higher education. This includes a specific focus on automatic adaptive feedback and scaffolding in digital simulations that foster diagnostic skills in the fields of teacher and medical education, incorporating advancements in artificial intelligence and natural language processing.
